The Mother Bird Series
The Mother Bird series evolved out of my own process of healing. This body of work represents the progression of discovering and remembering the events of my childhood and facing the impact they had on me through giving voice to my hidden feelings.
As an artist, it was natural for me to connect with my soul through creating art. I worked endlessly with drawing as a way for my unconscious mind to speak freely to me without interruption. I would draw image after image without any analyzing of the pieces coming forth. I came to discover and listen to the very direct voice of my inner child as these images revealed the story to me of my early life. Through that process, I was able to begin to love my myself again.
My hope is that sharing this work will help others to feel supported in owning and expressing more deeply their own emotional selves....which I believe is key to creating a healthy and loving world for all to live in.
